Sexual Assault Awareness Month
April 2011

Many thanks to everyone who helped make this year’s Sexual Assault Awareness Month such a huge success! From benefit nights and cupcake fundraisers to displays at local bookstores, you all truly rallied together to bring awareness of sexual violence to Orange County. It is a pleasure working with you each year, and we simply could not have done it all without you! A special thank you to our Community Partners who helped us Turn the Town Teal.

If you are interested in supporting the Center’s SAAM 2012 campaign, please contact us for more information at info@ocrcc.org or 919-968-4647.

Clothing Drive for Survivors

Our Clothing Drive will continue year-round! The Orange County Rape Crisis Center, The Beacon Program, The Emergency Department Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners, and the Women’s Health Information Center are partnering to ask your help for our sexual assault victims.

The clothing of sexual assault survivors is collected for evidence, and they need new clothing to wear home or to a shelter. We are collecting new clothing at two drop off locations: the Orange County Rape Crisis Center and the Women’s Health Information Center on the ground floor of the Women’s Hospital.

We can only collect specific types of new clothing that do not have any writing on them. Please click here for a list of accepted items.

Your donation is tax deductible, and receipts will be available. For more information contact the Center at 919-968-4647 or the Beacon Program at 919-966-9314.

Shout Out!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Shout Out earlier this month. We accept submissions year-round, which can be emailed to info@ocrcc.org or submitted via the event blog at ShoutOutAgainstViolence.wordpress.com. You can also view previous submissions at our blog or in the VOICES section of our website.
